About EBL
The EIG Elite Basketball League brings together teams, players and communities to help build a stronger future for basketball in Trinidad & Tobago. Our inaugural six-team season is the foundation of a bigger ambition: a sustainable professional league where local talent can develop, compete and ultimately earn a living from the game.

Where we want to take the game
We want young basketballers to see a future in the sport they love. Our long-term goal is to develop EBL into a professional league that creates paid opportunities for players and coaches, alongside meaningful careers for referees, table officials, statisticians, commentators, photographers and the people who make game night possible.
Getting there means building strong clubs, developing talent, growing our fan base and forming lasting partnerships. It means raising standards on and off the court, with the financial stability to support the game for generations.
Youth development
Work towards youth academies affiliated with each team, giving young players structured coaching, mentorship and a pathway into senior competition.
Opportunities across the sport
Develop programmes for coaches, officials and administrators, and support the formation of a professional women’s league.
Stronger communities
Combine the excitement of basketball with positive social change. Encourage every club to embrace a social mission, connect with young people and contribute to its community.
National pride and excellence
Build pathways for talent to reach the national level and help Trinidad & Tobago basketball earn greater recognition across the region and beyond.
